Dublin South West TD and Independent Minister Katherine Zappone says Tallaght Hospital will remain a hub of health services for local communities. The Minister was speaking after being briefed on an expansion of services.  Under the plans an expanded ICU is being provided as well as a new Satellite Centre of the National Children’s Hospital.

Following the briefing by senior management, including Chief Executive David Slevin, Minister Zappone added:  “I am keenly aware of the importance of expanding our public services so that we can meet the demand of our growing population in Dublin South West.  Tallaght Hospital is no exception, we have some of the best medical staff and facilities right here on our doorstep and we must ensure that our hospital is supported to grow so that we can confidently face into the future.  Building works for the new National Childrens Hospital Satellite Centre will begin soon and plans for the expansion of the Intensive Care Unit are progressing.  I will continue to engage and work with Tallaght hospital management and consultants so that our hospital remains a priority in Government.”
