Woodturners’ Craft Teddy Bears Picnic Donated to Charity

Teddy Bears Picnic

A group of talented woodturners recently came together to create a stunning piece of art, aptly named the Teddy Bears’ Picnic, which they generously donated to the Ronald McDonald House (RMHC). The charity, renowned for supporting families with sick children by providing them with accommodation and a caring, supportive environment while their children are undergoing medical treatment at CHI at Crumlin, auctioned the masterpiece at their annual Gala Ball.

The intricately designed piece, a testament to the woodturners’ skill and creativity, captured the hearts of everyone at the event. Joe Kenny, CEO of RMHC Ireland, expressed his admiration for the work, calling it “one of the finest pieces of craftsmanship he has ever seen.”

The auctioning of the Teddy Bears’ Picnic helped raise much-needed funds for the charity, contributing to its mission of supporting families during some of the most challenging times in their lives.

The woodturners involved are from the Craobh Cúig Déag Chapter of the Irish Woodturners’ Guild. For anyone inspired by this extraordinary creation or interested in learning more about the art of woodturning, please contact Club Chairman, Eugene Sweeney, at 087 1220221 or Club Secretary, Kieran Reynolds, at 086 3930531 to visit a woodturning demonstration at one of their meetings, based in Castleknock College. This collaboration between the woodturners and RMHC highlights the power of art and craftsmanship in making a difference in the lives of families in need.
