Welfare of Fish in Kingswood Park

Welfare Fish Kingswood Park

Local Tallaght T.D. Seán Crowe has welcomed South Dublin County Council’s response to his growing concerns for the welfare of fish in its lake in Kingswood Park. Algae blooms are now covering the lake surface and Crowe believes it is only a matter of time before dead fish begin floating to the surface. Residents who use the park have also complained of a bad smell coming off the lake and that the odour is putting them off walking in park in recent weeks. In a reply received from the Councils Parks Department recently the local TD was informed that the Council were aware of the situation and were looking at various initiatives to aerate and increase oxygen into the pond. Crowe said the matter is urgent and is calling for immediate action.
