TD for Dublin South West Seán Crowe has welcomed the announcement of funding for Tallaght University Hospital towards the development of a community-based Women’s Health Unit.
Teachta Crowe said “I warmly welcome the recent announcement of funding for Tallaght University Hospital towards the development of a community-based Women’s Health Unit. The expansion of the hospital’s gynaecological services at Tallaght Cross into a 1,200sqm space will facilitate an additional 3,000 out-patient appointments per year
“I believe it is especially important that this new Unit will be a specialist facility for the management of patients with endometriosis. This is a chronic condition that has not received nearly enough attention or resources in the past considering the debilitating effects it can have on a woman’s life. “We have a great local resource in Tallaght University Hospital and I am delighted that it is seeing continued development and growth. There are more projects that need to see a green light now like the new 72 bed unit that would relieve a lot of pressure in the in-patient units.”
Warm welcome for new TUH Women’s Health Unit
