Tallaght Drug and Alcohol Task Force (TDATF) have been looking at ways to increase support to frontline community drug services by applying for funding to support new initiatives. These include crack cocaine programmes and a Community Alcohol Programme…..COMING SOON! September is International Recovery Month and there are many events organised to celebrate and promote recovery from addiction. The annual Recovery Walk takes place on September 14th. For more details of upcoming events get in touch or check out the TDATF Facebook page. In July they welcomed Minister Katherine Zappone to Tallaght to showcase the fantastic collaboration between WASP and CARP in Killinarden. These two services have come together to increase supports to whole families in the Tallaght Wide area who are impacted by substance misuse. Minister Zappone was so impressed that the T.D. went to visit CARP to see for herself the incredible work being done with families.
They have an important event coming up – a conference which aims to help concerned caregivers, education providers and professionals understand the harms associated with Cannabis use amongst young people. The conference takes place in the Tallaght Stadium on the 3rd of October @9.30am. You can avail of free tickets on eventbrite.ie.
