Tallaght Drug & Alcohol Task Force (TDATF) have had a busy September with work including applying for new funding opportunities, responding to emerging needs & trends, supporting families affected by substance misuse, looking at ways they can support out frontline community drug services, allocating the Education Bursary Fund which supports people in recovery from substance misuse, continuing to promote the harms associated with alcohol misuse; see below for information on an upcoming work shop. And making representations to various departments, Ministers and TD’s on issues currently impacting communities and services, most recently in advance of budget 2018.
The upcoming workshop on alcohol and mental health takes place on the 3rd of October from 10am – 1pm in Rua Red, Tallaght. This workshop in conjunction with Healthy Ireland SDCC is an interactive workshop facilitated by Anna Taaffe. TDATF has recently started a support group for carers. If you are caring for children as a result of a family member’s substance misuse and would like to engage in a support group with other people in similar situations, please get in touch for more details. The task force are asking people once again to use the Crimestoppers line to report any incidents of drug dealing and / or drug related crime, including intimidation. Ph. 1800 25 00 25
