The Tallaght 5 Mile on Sunday the 19th of June will kick start the Irish Life Dublin Race Series. The race will start and finish at the Tallaght Stadium.
Jim Aughney Race Director of the Irish Life Dublin Marathon and Race Series said, ‘We are delighted to be back to real races, and we are thrilled that South Dublin County Council are partnering with us to bring the first race of the series to Tallaght.”
Mayor of South Dublin County, Peter Kavanagh said: “I am delighted that the Irish Life Dublin Marathon Race Series will begin in South Dublin with the Tallaght 5 Mile. It’s a great event, set against the backdrop of the Dublin Mountains, and will be a fantastic occasion for all involved.”
Irish running legend Catherina McKiernan and ambassador for the Irish Life Dublin Marathon and Race Series has encouraged runners to sign up to the Tallaght 5-mile race “This is a great race distance for runners of all levels. If you have done a few 5km this is the ideal progression as it is only 3km more. For the more experienced runner this is a great distance to work on your speed as you build towards a summer of running and racing in preparation for the longer races in the series”.
Entry for the Irish Life Dublin Race Series is open at IrishLifeDublinMarathon.ie. There are bundle offers in place for the four races in the series: 5 Mile in Tallaght (19th June), Fingal 10km (17th July), Frank Duffy 10 Mile (20th August) and the Half Marathon (17th September). The Irish Life Dublin Marathon on Sunday 30th October is sold out.
