Support children like Grace this December with Children’s Health Foundation’s Christmas Jumper Day

Grace Children’s Health Foundation

Children’s Health Foundation invites communities, schools, workplaces, and families across Ireland to spread holiday cheer by taking part in Christmas Jumper Day 2024. Supporters can participate anytime during the week of 9th December. By wearing a festive jumper, supporters can help raise vital funds to provide supports to patients and families, purchase life-saving equipment and provide Play and Music therapies for children in Children’s Health Ireland hospital sites and urgent care centres at Crumlin, Temple Street, Tallaght, and Connolly.

This year’s Christmas Jumper Day spotlights Grace, an 11-year-old with a steadfast spirit from Dublin. Active and joyful, Grace was an avid gymnast, footballer, and dancer until a sudden medical emergency changed her life in an instant. She suffered a brain bleed that required immediate surgery, leading to an extended journey of recovery and resilience at Children’s Health Ireland at Temple Street.

While in Children’s Health Ireland, Grace received round-the-clock care from dedicated medical teams who helped her regain strength day by day. She continues to make strides in her recovery and is preparing for further treatment. Grace’s journey underscores the critical need for resources and support for young patients and their families.

“Christmas Jumper Day is a way for everyone to come together and make a real difference for children like Grace,” says Fionnuala O’Leary, Chief Executive of Children’s Health Foundation. “By wearing a jumper, each participant becomes part of a meaningful cause that brings hope and supports to thousands of children and families across Ireland at Christmas and every day of the year.”
