There was a great buzz on the 26th of April when the brand new Supervalu store opened in the heart of Newcastle. Emer Higgins T.D. and Cllr. Shirley O’Hara were in attendance on the day.
Emer Higgins T.D. commented “There was a great buzz in Newcastle this week for the grand opening of the brand new Supervalu. It was great to see so much local involvement with the RAMs in Rhythm performing, a spin the wheel game, stilt walkers, confetti, a BBQ and even a pair of giant gold scissors to cut the opening ribbon – Bobby and his incredible team pulled out all the stops. I want to wish all the staff the best of luck over the coming weeks and I’ve no doubt that the new supermarket will have massive support from the local community.”
Cllr. Shirley O’Hara added “I was delighted to attend the grand opening of Newcastle’s brand new Supervalu this week and see the excitement among the local community. It was great to get a tour around the shop itself which is state-of-the-art and has such a brilliant selection of food, drinks and products available. A facility like this has been really needed in the local community and I know from speaking to people in the area that they are really looking forward to having a Supervalu right on their doorstep.”
