South Dublin County Council Win Two Local Government Awards

South Dublin County Council has won Best Practice in Community Engagement and for Age-Friendly Initiative at the recent Chambers Ireland Excellence in Local Government Awards. The Council’s innovative multi-channel approach to citizen engagement for the public consultation of the County Development Plan was awarded Best Practice in Community Engagement whilst the Policy for Rightsizing and Allocation of Age-Friendly Accommodation took home the Age-Friendly Initiative award.

The annual Awards, sponsored by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, are held to recognise and celebrate the outstanding work being carried out by Local Authorities all over Ireland. Awards were presented for Local Government Excellence across several different categories. The awards were hosted via an online ceremony on the 18th of November 2021.
