South Dublin County Council is taking part in the nationwide #YourCouncilDay campaign on social media today the 12th of April, to increase engagement with the public and to raise awareness of the services provided. Local authorities across Ireland will use this campaign to talk about some of the services the sector provides.
Members of the public are encouraged to join in and talk to us about the services provided to their community using the hashtags #YourCouncilDay or #dolásachomhairle.
South Dublin County Council uses Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and other social media channels to further our communication, and information exchange with members of the public. By taking part in #YourCouncilDay the Council aims to engage with even more people and raise awareness of the many different services South Dublin County Council provides.
The 2018 nationwide campaign was a success with a total of 2,719 contributors posting over 7,719 tweets, an increase of 32% year on year. Local services such as transportation, housing, arts, heritage, the library services, fire service, civil defence plus many other aspects of the services local authorities provide on a day to day basis were highlighted.
