South Dublin County Council joins #ourcouncilday Campaign to Raise Awareness of Services

South Dublin County Council is taking part in the #ourcouncilday Twitter campaign today, Tuesday, 10th April, to increase engagement with the public and to raise awareness of the services provided.

Members of the public are encouraged to join in and talk to us about the services provided to their community using the hashtags #ourcouncilday or #ÁrLáSaChomhairle.

Mayor of South Dublin County Council, Cllr Paul Gogarty, said; “South Dublin County Council uses Twitter and other social media channels to further our communication, and information exchange with members of the public. By taking part in Twitter Day today we aim to engage with even more people and raise awareness of the many different services South Dublin County Council provides. I’d encourage people to engage in the conversation by following #ourcouncilday and discover more about South Dublin County Council”.

The 2017 campaign was a success with a total of 1,481 accounts that contribute to over 5,000 tweets. Local services such as transportation, housing, arts, heritage, the library services, fire
service, civil defence plus many other aspects of the council were highlighted on the day.
