Reanna Hand December
An artwork by 12-year old Dublin student Abbie Larkin, St. Michael’s School, Chapelizod, has been chosen to illustrate the 2019 Texaco Children’s Art Calendar. One of 13 selected for the publication, Abbie’s piece, entitled The Cat in the Rain, will appear on the front cover of the calendar and will be seen in thousands of homes throughout Ireland in 2019. Winning a Special Merit Award in category G of the 2018 competition, it was one of a number said by a competition adjudicator to perfectly illustrate the astounding talent and imagination of children and the essential role played by schools who encourage and inspire their students through art education.

Other South Dublin students Asma Makhloufi (17) from Presentation Community College, Terenure and Reanna Hand (12), also from St. Michael’s School, Chapelizod were also chosen. Asma’s work, entitled Family Matters can be seen reproduced in the month of October while Reanna’s, entitled Enchanted Forest can be seen reproduced in the month of December. Calendars are currently available through a select number of Texaco service stations countrywide.
