Recently, the Mayor of South Dublin County Council, Cllr. Alan Edge officially turned the sod to mark the commencement of works on the Killinarden Park Regeneration Project. The Mayor of South Dublin County Council, Cllr. Alan Edge was joined by Mr. Colm Ward, Chief Executive, Ms. Teresa Walsh, Director of Services, local councillors and staff of South Dublin County Council and special guests to celebrate this event.
Speaking at the event Mayor Cllr. Alan Edge said “The works now underway will include the upgrade of the park in accordance with the plans developed with the local community over several months. The plans include provision of a lit walking and cycling route, new routes though the park, playspaces, a teenspace and Multi Use Games Area and upgrade of the existing grass pitches and other improvements to the park. We look forward to its safe and successful delivery.” The project is funded by South Dublin County Council’s 3-year capital budget and supported by the National Transport Authority via Active Travel Grants and the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media via the Sports Capital Grant Programme.
