Is cúis áthais do Chomhairle Contae Bhaile Átha Cliatha Theas agus Sheirbhísí Leabharlanna Átha Cliath Theas, Seachtain na Gaeilge Átha Cliath Theas (SnaGÁCT) na bliana seo a fhógairt i gcomhpháirtíocht le hÁras Chrónáin. Is bliain speisialta í seo dár dteanga dhúchais álainn anseo i gContae Átha Cliath Theas. Táimid an-bhródúil go bhfuil Baile Chluain Dolcáin ag iarraidh stádas oifigiúil mar ‘Líonra Gaeilge’ a bhaint amach.
Coinnigh súil amach don fheachtas feasachta maidir leis an ‘Líonra Gaeilge’. Roghnaíodh an fáinne mar lógó an fheachtais náisiúnta toisc go léiríonn sé na pobail éagsúla agus iad ar fad ag oibriú lena chéile. Is é aidhm an fheachtais úsáid na Gaeilge a chur chun cinn tríd an mana ‘Gaeilge le Chéile’ – is trí chéim simplí é seo, an Ghaeilge a úsáid Gach Lá, i nGach Áit, le Gach Duine.
Sheol Méara Chomhairle Contae Bhaile Átha Cliath Theas, An Comhairleoir Mark Ward, SnaGÁCT go hoifigiúil an tseachtain seo. Beidh an clár ar siúl ón 1 – 17 Márta. Tá níos mó ná 120 imeacht ar chlár iontach na bliana seo, lena n-áirítear ceolchoirm speisialta le Kila, Céilí ar Lá Fhéile Pádraig, PreabGhaeltacht, ceardlanna sna leabharlanna, seisiúin cheoil thraidisiúnta, i measc neart imeachtaí suimiúla eile agus beidh an chuid is mó díobh saor in aisce.
Dúirt an Méara Ward an méid seo a leanas agus é ag labhairt faoi chlár imeachtaí na bliana seo: “Tá neart le feiceáil, le déanamh agus le fiosrú i leathanaigh chlár imeachtaí Sheachtain na Gaeilge i mbliana. Má léann tú an bróisiúr ar líne, is féidir leat cliceáil ar na naisc agus beidh tú in ann faisnéis chuí a fháil maidir leis na himeachtaí éagsúla. Molaim go mór do gach duine dár saoránaigh freastal ar roinnt de na himeachtaí iontacha éagsúla a bheidh ar siúl, ón gceol go dtí ciorcail chomhrá beidh neart le déanamh ann, agus iarraim ort do chúpla focal a úsáid le linn Sheachtain na Gaeilge 2019 chun tacú le húsáid na Gaeilge sa ghnáthshaol!”

Launch of Seachtain na Gaeilge Atha Cliath Theas 2019
South Dublin County Council and South Dublin Library Services in partnership with Áras Chrónáin are delighted to bring you this year’s Seachtain na Gaeilge Átha Cliath Theas (SnaGÁCT). This year in particular is a unique year for our beautiful language within South Dublin County. We are very proud to see our own Clondalkin Village going forward for official recognition and status as a ‘Líonra Gaeilge’ (Irish Language Network).
Keep an eye out for the awareness campaign surrounding ‘Líonra Gaeilge’. The fáinne / circle has been chosen as a logo for the national campaign as it represents communities working together – le chéile. The aim of the campaign is to promote the use of Irish through Gaeilge le Chéile – three simple steps, to use Irish Everyday, Everywhere, with Everyone.
SnaGÁCT was launched officially this week by Mayor of South Dublin County Council, Cllr Mark Ward. The programme will run from 1– 17 March. This year’s wonderful calendar has over 120 events including a special concert by Kila, St. Patrick’s Day Céilí, Pop – Up Gaeltacht, workshops in the libraries, traditional music sessions, and many other entertaining events, most of which are free of charge.
In referring to this year’s programme of events Mayor Ward said “There is plenty to do, see and explore within the pages of this year’s Seachtain na Gaeilge event guide. If you are reading the brochure online, you’ll be able to click on links to bring you to relevant content. I would encourage all our citizens to attend some of the many great events on offer from music to poetry to conversation, and above all to use your cúpla focail during Seachtain na Gaeilge 2019 to support the use of Irish in our daily lives!.”
