SDCC Are Shortlisted With Four Projects

This year has been extremely successful for South Dublin County Council with four projects shortlisted for the 2019 All Ireland Community & Council Awards 2019 presented by IPB Insurance and LAMA.

The projects are Sherry Fitzgerald Group – Best Business Working with the Community, MEDEX programme – Best Community Health Initiative, Kick Ass Adventures – Best Community Sports Team/Club and mydoorstep.ie – Best Connected Council (Communication & Digital Marketing).

Now in their 13th year, the 2019 All Ireland Community & Council Awards presented by IPB Insurance and LAMA celebrate community and councils working together. They provide a great opportunity to highlight the work done within our communities, to reward our unsung heroes and recognise the phenomenal contribution they’ve made to our lives  as well as acknowledge
achievements from local Community and County Councils, partnerships and projects that enhance our everyday lives.

IPB Insurance has continuously grown its involvement in the awards, this year being their fourth year as headline sponsor.  George Jones, Chairman of IPB Insurance, said, “The Community and Council Awards are a perfect fit for IPB, recognising as it does, the unique relationship our local authority Members enjoy with their communities in creating a better society in which to live and work.”

Cllr Mags Murray Chairperson of the LAMA Executive commented; “LAMA is delighted to acknowledge and recognise the enormous efforts of community and voluntary groups, innovative initiatives and local authorities in their pursuit of excellence. This year’s All Ireland Community & Council Award winners will be announced at the gala Awards ceremony, hosted by RTÉ’s Marty Morrissey at Croke Park Stadium, on Saturday the 9th of February 2019.
