Give A Dam For Sam Rathcoole

The children in Scoil Chrónáin in Rathcoole showing their support for student Sam and his campaign ‘Give A Damn For Sam’ with a message for the Minister for Health Simon Harris T.D. Sam’s Mum Fiona Bailey commented “We would like to say a massive, massive thank you to Sorch McCabe for organising this video, you are amazing, thank you… and thank you to the filming guys, Paul, Farhad and Harry for giving their time and expertise so generously, they were so brilliant! A big thanks to Glenn also. Go raibh míle maith agat do Siobhán, an príomhoide; agus na múinteoirí, Deirdre agus Selina; Aideen, Natasha agus na daoine iontacha sa Scoil Chrónáin – go raibh maith agaibh!”

The kids were absolutely FANTASTIC, such energy, love and kindness! They certainly #GIVEADAMNFORSAM. The video featuring Sam and friends can be viewed here –  www.facebook.com/fiona.bailey.54584982.

The poem was written by Sam’s Dad Paul.

Sam is our classmate
Our playmate, our friend
Listen now Simon
We’ve a message to send!

Sam needs Spinraza
A miracle drug
Might help him walk
Or give his sisters a hug

Sam’s my bro
I love him to bits
If he gets Spinraza
I’ll do the splits!

Give Sam Spinraza
This is our prayer
Why has he not got it?
It just isn’t fair!

All over Europe
They’re giving it out
Come on Ireland
Let’s hear you shout!

SPIN-RA-ZA!
SPIN-RA-ZA!
SPIN-RA-ZA!

Le do thoil, a Aire, tabhair ‘Spinraza’ d’ár chara.
