Rathcoole will host South Dublin’s first ever Teenfest on Saturday 1st September.
“Rachel Boggans and her committee have turned her daughter’s idea of a teen day into nothing short of a festival. With everything from a DJ to a Quiet Room, inflatable obstacle courses to art workshops and make up classes, the event for over 12s promises to offer something for everyone,” said Cllr. Emer Higgins who is helping to organise the day.
“Teenfest will hear from guest speakers Nikki Bradley on positive mental attitude, Kickstart on fitness and my colleague and Olympic champion Councillor Kenneth Egan on takling addition challenges. Ireland’s Got Talent finalist Affia will be making a special appearance along with some of the Shamrock Rovers team. KPH and Equita are sponsoring the event and we’re so grateful for their support. The underlying theme is mental wellness and we’ll have charities working in this area there. We are especially delighted to be planting a Tree if Hope on the day thank to Anne O’Riordans efforts. If you have teenage kids, neices or newphews please encourage them to check us out on social media. It promises to be a great day hosted by Tricia and her team in the Rathcoole Community Centre,” concluded Cllr. Emer Higgins.
