RAMS Group Visit Blarney Castle

Blarney RAMS

All 26 members of the Retired Active Men’s Social RAMS had their first trip for 2024 to Blarney Castle, Co. Cork recently instead of their usual activity day of bowls, pool, and socialising. A lovely fine day as the group embarked on the coach, with all happy men looking forward to their day out. Although Cork is a three-hour drive, it did not deter any of our members, as they had their first stop at the Cahir House Hotel in Tipperary. Lots of banter and talk on the way. RAMS received a wonderful warm reception at the Cahir House Hotel, and all members enjoyed their morning coffee and hot scones. In Blarney, a good walk around the old castle, and some members venturing to climb the old castle to “Kiss” the Blarney stone. Then on the way home, they had a late lunch at the Cahir House Hotel.

Recently, the RAMS in Rhythm were fundraising for the 4 District First Responders in Avoca, and they received a great response for all the shoppers, and patrons of Avoca Rathcoole. In early May, the group were fundraising for a local charity in Spar in Newcastle and singing at the Mill Centre in Clondalkin in aid of the Simon Community.
