Following on from an online ‘Meet the Buyer Event’, where 15 Dublin producers met with Claire Morton, from the iconic specialty retailer based in Ranelagh and Hatch Street, six Dublin producers have secured a listing. The event was organised by Dublin Food Chain which is the largest food network in Europe and facilitates commercial activity between Dublin’s growing food producer community and it’s food service and retail operators. The Dublin Food Chain is an initiative of the Local Enterprise Offices in the Dublin area and supported by Bord Bia. The Dublin Food Chain is part of an ongoing effort to harness the power of the ‘collective’, in order to ensure that Co. Dublin’s unique food heritage benefits from the attention it deserves.
Retailer Claire Morton commented on the initiative “The focus here in Morton’s is on bringing the best local food to customers and we were delighted with the opportunity to collaborate with the Dublin Food Chain, which has resulted in six new food producers’ products being available to our customers.”
Asian sauce producer Mindi Keane from Mama Nagis, and Tea Blender, Nicola Kearns from Niks Tea, both based in South Dublin were delighted to receive news of the listing.
Tom Rooney, Head of Enterprise, Local Enterprise Office, South Dublin described the initiative as representative of the ethos of Dublin Food Chain “Food is an important priority for the four Local Enterprise Offices in the Dublin area and we are delighted to support the Dublin Food Chain in initiatives like this, which result in commercial outputs for its members.”
