Fianna Fáil General Election candidate Lynda Prendergast has welcomed confirmation from her party colleague, Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Charlie McConalogue T.D, that 101 animal welfare charities nationwide are in line for funding of €6 million.

Locally, Animal Trust Fund in Clondalkin will receive €15,200, Clondalkin Animal Aid €14,050 and North Dublin Cat Rescue in Ballyowen €4,000.

Lynda Prendergast said, “My party colleague in government Minister McConalogue has championed these grants. It underlines Fianna Fáil’s commitment to supporting these organisations in the vital work they do across the country, protecting, rescuing and taking care of animals, and providing education and guidance so as to prevent welfare problems from arising in the future. “I would like to thank animal charity staff and volunteers for their hard work and inspiring dedication.”
