Rathcoole Fine Gael councillor Shirley O’Hara has confirmed that bus shelters will finally be installed for 126 bus commuters.
Cllr O’Hara said “While residents have welcomed the introduction of stops for the 126 route at Rathcoole, I have on their behalf been seeking shelters be put in place at their Rathcoole bus stops”
“Recently, the National Transport Authority (NTA) responded to me to advise they are finally commissioning bus shelters at the 126 route bus stops at either end of Rathcoole (slip road on city bound side of N7 and Poitin Stil on outbound side of N7)”.
The NTA in their response to Cllr O’Hara said “We have confirmed that both stop locations are suitable for the installation of bus shelters. Our bus shelter contractor – JCDecaux – has finalised the required design work and planning packs for both stop locations. We will shortly be submitting planning applications to South Dublin County Council for the provision of bus shelters at both stop locations, subject to the receipt of the necessary letters of consent from South Dublin County Council. Assuming that planning permission is granted, the shelters will be included for installation in next years’ programme”.
