St. Peter Apostle Junior National School (JNS) has received a donation of 86 play kits and 100 hygiene kits from Amazon in the Baldonnell. Established in 1979, St. Peter Apostle JNS serves children from the ages of three to eight years old in the Neilstown area. The school provides a nurturing environment focused on academic, moral, and social development for students. St. Peter’s also offers the ‘Butterfly Suite’ which provides specialised education for students with autism. The hygiene kits, filled with essential personal care items, and the play kits, featuring toys, games and educational materials, were donated to the school by the Amazon team in Dublin, in a bid to promote health and wellbeing, as well as sparking creativity and fun amongst students.
Speaking on the donation, Anjali Miles from Amazon said “At Amazon, we’re dedicated to supporting the well-being and development of young learners, especially those that come from disadvantaged circumstances. We are delighted to donate these kits to St. Peter Apostle JNS, with the hope that they inspire students to discover the joy in learning!”
Laura Hannon, Principal of St. Peter Apostle JNS, said “On behalf of our students, we’d like to say a big thank you to the Amazon Dublin team for this donation. Contributions like these play a vital role in empowering our students, providing them with the resources and motivation to achieve their goals and inspire a brighter future.”
The donation to St. Peter Apostle JNS was made as part of Amazon’s programme to support the communities in and around its operating locations in Ireland.
Since opening its doors in 2022, the Dublin fulfilment centre has supported many community organisations locally, with donations totalling over €53,000. Charities supported by the team at the fulfilment centre include Cliona’s Foundation, Jigsaw and LauraLynn Children’s Hospice.
