Meaghers Pharmacy Group is delighted to announce that it has been named among the Deloitte Best Managed Companies in Ireland for the eighth consecutive year. The annual Best Managed Companies (BMC) awards programme, which is sponsored by Bank of Ireland and run by professional services firm Deloitte, honours outstanding business performance for companies from across the island of Ireland.
Meaghers Pharmacy Group has its roots in Dublin’s Baggot Street where the first store was opened in 1921 by the Meagher family. Oonagh O’Hagan purchased the store from the family and has since opened another eight Meaghers Pharmacy stores across Dublin including stores in Tallaght. Meaghers achieved Platinum Status, the highest award level, following its seventh consecutive success in 2021. An eighth honour this year means that the pharmacy chain will retain its status until at least 2023.
Oonagh O’Hagan, Managing Director of Meaghers Pharmacy, and members of her team picked up the award on behalf of Meaghers Pharmacy Group at the Best Managed Companies Gala Awards Ceremony at Dublin’s Convention Centre recently. Companies honoured at BMC22 have demonstrated mastery of strategy, capability and innovation, culture and commitment, and governance and financial performance. BMC is the only award in Ireland that recognises overall business performance as well as the achievements of management teams.
Strict eligibility criteria permitted applications from firms from the island of Ireland that have been established for at least five years and have an annual turnover above €15 million. The award means that Meaghers Pharmacy can continue to display its BMC Platinum Status banner, a mark of business excellence recognised by customers, suppliers and service providers in 42 countries around the world.
