On the 5th of July 2024, the Mayor of South Dublin County Council, Cllr. Baby Pereppadan officially turned the sod to mark the commencement of works for Carrigmore Park. The Mayor was joined by Staff of South Dublin County Council and members of the Citywest Community Council to celebrate this event.
Speaking at the event Mayor Cllr. Baby Pereppadan said “The works about to commence will include an upgrade of the existing playspace, a teenspace, a calisthenics workout area, a boules court, a pump track, a mini woodland, reinstatement of the pitches, new wetland areas, a new bridge, new planting, as well as footpath works and upgrades to the existing entrances”.
This project is funded by South Dublin County Council’s 3-year capital budget, 300k Have Your Say, and the Community Recognition Fund. The Public Realm Section in South Dublin have carried out the planning and design work on this project to date. First phase of construction work on site will be carried out by Play and Leisure Services, with the natural play expansion of the playspace and a teenspace.
