Lucan Artist’s First Art Exhibition In Ireland

Leopoldo Ayala

Leopoldo Ayala, a Venezuelan artist who has been residing in Lucan for the past five years will hold his first exhibition in Ireland. He will be showcasing his abstract art at Gallery X in an exhibition opening on the 27th of July at 6 pm and concluding on the 2nd of August.

Venezuelan artist Ayala embarks on his debut solo exhibition with a selection of his colourful, vivid paintings. The paintings in Subliminal Tide represent vibrant abstract paintings and portraits with a bold display of colour and movement. Rich, strong tones that capture the essence of the city of Dublin, with colourful city gates and bustling rivers, these works are a celebration of Dublin’s lively and energetic character. The expressive elements of light, texture and colour combine to evoke the energy and vibrancy of the city and it’s international people. Ayala’s background is in arts education and he has been living in Ireland since 2018. He has been most influenced by artists who break boundaries with their use of colour, such as Paul Cézanne and Pablo Picasso.

The exhibition is curated by Tony Strickland.
