Local Councillor Trevor Gilligan recently highlighted the local hero awards night held in Clondalkin. He said “From initially requesting nominations through a video online which received nearly 4,000 views, to an award ceremony with An Tanaiste Micheal Martin, the most recent presentation night. This experience has been very rewarding”.
The Clondalkin Councillor commented “Special mention for local hero Ciara Fogarty who was nominated more than once, however, instead, she agreed to get involved from the get go. I want to thank her for her efforts. Our aim is to unearth the hidden gems in our community. Prizes aside, we recognise unsung heroes. This means a lot to the winners and I’m delighted for them and their families”.
Gilligan continued “Overall winners, St Brids Unit, Peamount Hospital, were treated to a lovely meal and drinks on the evening. The staff work tirelessly for their patients and our community, they deserve this night out and I’m delighted it was a pleasure to present them their prize for overall winners. Presentations were also made on the night to local groups Neart le cheile, Localize as well as 8 individual winners, listed hereunder”.
Also a huge thanks to supporters AIB Clondalkin, McElroy Funeral Homes and Tree top Restaurant.
