Leixlip Water Treatment Plant to Saggart Reservoir Update

Water Lucan Clondalkin Palmerstown

Local Clondalkin area Councillor Francis Timmons recently received an update on Rathcoole Park water works.

The response received from Irish Water is as follows;

“The new Leixlip Water Treatment Plant to Saggart Reservoir water pipeline which crosses through Rathcoole Park is now in operation. Finishing out works in Rathcoole Park, which involves upgrading the 2 northern pitches has now commenced. Works include pitch regrading, installation of pitch drainage and reinstatement of all topsoil disturbed during the works. These works in Rathcoole Park are expected to be completed by end of May 2020.

Seeding is planned for the optimal time of year this year. Pitch re-establishment post construction works typically take 12-18 months which is largely weather dependent. The current estimate for bringing the pitches back into operation is currently Q2-Q4 2021.”
