LÁ FHÉILE BRÍDE

On Saturday 1st February, the feast of St. Brigid, Deacon Don Devaney led  the annual procession from the Village Church to St. Brigid’s Well on Boot Road, after 10 o’clock Mass. Prayers were said and hymns were sung at the event which was very well attended. Earlier in the week there were numerous visits to the well by local school groups. Several events followed over the weekend as part of the La Fheile Bride / Brigid’s Day Festival  with parades, Pipe band, Mummers St. Brigid Cross workshops and finally a Brigid’s Way Imbolic Pilgrimage walk on the Monday from the Sanctuary Holistic Centre , Stanhope Street Dublin to the Well at Boot Road.
