ISSU President comments on the Leaving Certificate Results 2020

Education

The Irish Second-Level Students’ Union (ISSU) President, Reuban Murray, on behalf of the National Student Executive (N.S.E) wishes to congratulate the Leaving Certificate class of 2020 on their recent results.

Mr Murray noted “The Leaving Certificate is a stepping stone for students as they progress on to the next phase of their lives, but it does not define them or their abilities as a person. It is an exciting time and we wish every student the best of luck in whatever career or direction they wish to take. It is important to remember to also be there for those who don’t get the results they want. Support each other in this. Now is a time to celebrate after having such a long year with plenty of uncertainty and stress. The Leaving Certificate class of 2020 should be commended for their bravery and resilience in dealing with such a difficult situation. While we realise many may be disappointed with their results, there is still the chance for students to appeal grades and to sit their exams.ISSU have a wide range of supports for those who do wish to sit examinations at issu.ie/exam-support
