In Clondalkin today a helicopter incident occured in the village, on the grounds of a local school. The door fell off the Defence Forces helicopter.
Local South Dublin County Councillor Cllr Shane Moynihan commented “Thankfully, no one was hurt as a result of incident. However, Moyle Park is in the centre of Clondalkin village so it’s important that an investigation determines what happened and prevents such a thing happening again. Our men and women in uniform are the bravest and the best, often putting themselves at great risk on our behalf. We can not afford to gamble with their safety or that of the public. It is therefore vital that the equipment used by our Defence Forces is fit for purpose.”
