Grant Now Available for Newly Launched Student Part-Time Fee Scheme

A new fee contribution grant is now available to students attending approved part-time undergraduate courses for the academic year 2024/25. This grant is part of the recently launched Student Part-Time Fee Scheme for Specified Undergraduate Courses 2024.

Local TD and Minister for Business, Employment and Retail Emer Higgins said, “This new grant is a fantastic opportunity for students in our community who need a more flexible approach to higher education. It recognises that not everyone can commit to full-time study due to personal or financial circumstances.” “With the fee contribution grant now available, higher education is more accessible than ever, and I strongly encourage all eligible students to explore this scheme. This is an important step toward breaking down the barriers that prevent many from pursuing their educational goals.”.

“The National Access Plan identified that fees for part-time programs are a significant barrier to higher education. The Student Part-Time Fee Scheme for specified Undergraduate Courses is designed to break down those barriers and create opportunities for people to achieve their educational goals in a way that suits them. I urge part time students to check the SUSI website for more information and apply as soon as possible”, Higgins concluded.

To qualify for funding, students must be enrolled in one of 62 approved courses and meet all eligibility criteria. Details and a full list of approved courses can be found on the SUSI website. The value of funding is determined by the number of European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) credits undertaken during the academic year. Applications are now open and can be made online at www.susi.ie/funding-for-part-time-undergraduate-courses/
