Dublin’s very own Elaine Doherty was recently named Comfort Keepers’ Carer of the year 2017 for Ireland. The award was made in recognition of her work with the elderly and disabled. She was ranked highest among Comfort Keepers’ 1500 staff in Ireland. Elaine has won a trip to Texas, USA, for our Comfort Keepers International Awards next year. Our 2016 winner Leona Goodman has just came back from her trip Orlando for the same event.
According to her colleagues, “Elaine is a kind and thoughtful person. She’s a deserving winner as she believes in her work and the difference that home carers can make to the person and their families.” Comfort Keepers has been helping older people and people with disabilities to live their lives as fully and enjoyably as possible in Dublin. In that time they have worked with people, assisting them with everything from cooking and cleaning through to assistance with medications and providing a respite break for adults who are looking after their own relatives. “Seven years ago, we started our annual Carer of the Year awards in recognition of our staff who improve the quality of life of others, by offering exceptional care, support and companionship, and really enriching the lives of others. CKAwards has grown year on year and is very much the highlight of our year” said Brid Gould, Managing Director. “Each of our winners have been nominated by their colleagues and clients. I am so proud to be involved in such a special evening, recognising their extraordinary efforts”.
CKAwards ceremony also recognises our employees in various other support roles throughout the organisation for their outstanding performance and dedication to quality care in our communities. We are also thrilled that joining us on the night, are our staff who are celebrating 10 years with Comfort Keepers. This year the CKAwards ceremony was held at Kilashee House Hotel in Co Kildare with Daithi O’Se presenting on the night.
