€30K For Floraville LED Upgrade

“Following on from representations from the residents, SDCC is to begin the process of the LED lighting upgrade in the next 8 weeks.” said Cllr Trevor Gilligan.  “Floraville is an estate that falls into the ‘pre-1990’s’ category for LED Upgrades and as such would not normally qualify due to the well documented ongoing technical difficulties with the upgrading of estates with this age profile.” “The work it will entail a considerable amount of additional infrastructural investment than would not normally be expected in an upgrade such as this, due to the age of the estate. However,  we believe that the benefits to the local community will justify the additional costs. We are proposing to commence the upgrade in the next eight weeks. The scheme will include Floraville Avenue, Floraville Drive and Floraville Lawn”  concluded Cllr Gilligan.
