Dust from Vincent Byrne site an issue for residents

Dust coming from the Vincent Byrne site in Palmerstown Village is a daily problem faced by local residents, according to David Gardiner, Workers’ Party representative for Palmerstown-Fonthill.

“The Workers’ Party has had complaints from residents about the issue, and I’ve been in touch with both South Dublin County Council and the HSE over it, and yet it still persists.” “The methods that they’re using to stop the dust from spreading clearly aren’t working. A number of community volunteers were out sweeping dust up from some of the roads this morning, in fact. Others have been doing the same in their own gardens. It isn’t fair on them or Palmerstown residents in general.” “Once again, those behind this development continue to show absolutely no concern for the wellbeing of the people of Palmerstown.” “That’s the nature of this development, it isn’t there to build the community, it’s a cash-grab for developers and landlords at the expense of the community and renters.”
