Grindstone

Grindstone Café, a beloved D16 favourite, is making its way to Dublin Landings, serving up specialty 3fe coffee alongside pastries from local favourites like Medialuna and Margadh.

The €700 million Dublin Landings project has transformed the area into a sleek, modern hub, home to major players like the Central Bank, the National Treasury Management Agency, and the soon-to-arrive Citi Bank HQ. With tech giants like Microsoft and Salesforce already settled in, this business hotspot now also has a haven for coffee enthusiasts.

Grindstone Speciality Coffee, a much-loved local darling of Dublin 16, is set to officially open its doors tomorrow, Wednesday, December 4th, in Dublin’s highly impressive new Docklands development, Dublin Landings. Known for its exceptional coffee, legendary toasted sandwiches from Greenville Deli, and artisanal touches, Grindstone is bringing its signature charm and community spirit to this dynamic and freshly completed urban hub.

Dublin Landings is the latest redevelopment in Dublin’s iconic Docklands, described by The Irish Times as “one of the most ambitious regeneration projects undertaken in Dublin.” With a guide development cost of €700 million, this state-of-the-art project includes Grade A office spaces across five buildings, 268 thoughtfully designed apartments, and a mix of retail and leisure offerings. The development has already attracted major institutions like the Central Bank of Ireland, the National Treasury Management Agency, and global giants like Microsoft and Salesforce, as well as new headquarters for Citi Bank under construction nearby.

Tomorrow, Grindstone Speciality Coffee joins this impressive tenant lineup, which also includes The Mayson Hotel, WeWork, and Fresh, as the sole café operator in Dublin Landings. Offering Dubliners a much-needed specialty coffee experience, Grindstone serves an exceptional selection of 3fe Coffee alongside guest roasters like Blind Monkey. Complementing its coffee offerings, Grindstone proudly features the legendary toasted sandwiches from Greenville Deli, a curated menu of artisanal food from Margadh, Medialuna, Village Dairy, and Goat’s Oats, and drinks and dishes served on stunning handmade Araucaria Ceramics cups and plates.

“We’re thrilled to be part of such an exciting, forward-thinking project,” said Grindstone founders Simon and Erwin. “The new Dublin Landings is brimming with energy and potential, and we hope to play a key role in its rejuvenation. Expanding from our Dundrum roots to this new hub is a huge milestone for us, and we’re committed to bringing the same high standards and community focus that made Grindstone a beloved part of Dundrum.”

The café’s interior, expertly designed by Irish companies Third Mind Design and RedFern Construction, blends modern aesthetics with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Clean lines, organic materials, and industrial touches create a visually inspiring space, centred around a custom-designed Synesso MVP coffee machine – a reflection of Grindstone’s dedication to quality in every detail.

Grindstone Speciality Coffee at Dublin Landings will be open seven days a week and promises to be a new go-to destination for locals and visitors alike in this vibrant Docklands area.
