The Dublin Climbing Centre will host the fourth and final round of the Irish Youth Climbing Series, sponsored by the Great Outdoors, on Saturday, 5 November 2022 to determine which of Ireland’s top young climbers make the Grand Final at the end of the month.
Throughout the Series, which has featured three gripping rounds at Boulder World Belfast, University of Limerick and Gravity Climbing Centre, participants in five categories ranging from Youth A (born 2005/06) to Youth E (born 2013/14) have taken on bouldering and route climbing obstacles (known as ‘problems’).
At the end of Round 4, which is a route climbing round, each climber will have their Series score calculated as the aggregate of their three best ranking results in the Series. The top three climbers, who have competed in at least three of the four rounds, will enter the Grand Final in the UK from 26-27 November.
Standard cut-off for registration for the event at Dublin Climbing Centre is on Monday, 30 October at 8pm sharp with the cut-off for late entrants on Wednesday, 2 November also at 8pm. Participants must be of intermediate level or above and have their own climbing equipment.
Entry is accepted only online on Eventbrite and competition forms can be downloaded from the Mountaineering Ireland website. Cost per entry is €15 for Mountaineering Ireland members, €25 for non-members and €35 for late entries.
