Senator Catherine Ardagh has said that local Drug and Alcohol Task Forces are appealing for PPE equipment so that they can continue to help support service users during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Senator Ardagh said: “Local task forces who are helping services users with drug and alcohol addiction needs to continue to engage with service users and to do this in a safe environment they need more PPE equipment. My colleague Cllr Deirdre Conroy who is on the task force has brought the need for extra PPE equipment to my attention and together we would appeal for the extra equipment to be provided to continue this vital work. “Problems of drug and alcohol abuse is at a level which is catastrophic for communities and therefore more than ever they need greater helps and supports. The tasks forces need an urgent supply of PPE equipment to continue their work in areas which are already in crisis,” concluded Senator Ardagh.
