Local Fianna Fáil Councillor and chairman of the Council’s Strategic Policy Committee, Charlie O’Connor, has welcomed the visit to Tallaght by his Party colleague and Minister for Housing, Darragh O’Brien.Minister O’Brien’s visit marked the commencement of works of The Weir, an 81-unit residential development for those over the age of 55. The development will comprise of a total of 63 one bed apartments and 18 two bed apartments.
Councillor O’Connor attended the event alongside Mayor Ed O’Brien, Councillor Emma Murphy, Councillor Mick Duff, Danny Mc Loughlin, Chief Executive of South Dublin County Council and Marguerite Staunton of South Dublin County Council as well as representatives of Cluid and Cunningham Contracts Group. Councillor O’Connor commented, “This is a great project for Tallaght and I was really pleased to welcome Minister O’Brien to celebrate the commencement of works at The Weir.’’
