Clondalkin Swimming Pool Saga To Finally Come To An End

Clondalkin Leisure Swimming Pool

The saga of the Clondalkin Swimming Pool is to end.

“Following on several motions and questions from my colleagues and I, I am glad to announce that the swimming pool will be in full use shortly. A new annual maintenance contract has been entered into by the Council. It is anticipated the pool will be operating at full capacity within a matter of weeks. This has been an on-going issue for a long, long time. This comes at a critical time when many swimmers were getting fed up and considering going elsewhere. However, I’m happy now that these issues are laid to rest and hopefully the maintenance contract will mean it will be there future issues, they will be rectified most urgently. I would like to thank the management for their help in sorting the issues out. To date, €238,952 has been spent on repairs to the Clondalkin Leisure Centre since the facility opened in 2008. It is estimated that the cost to repair the pool is €10,000.” – Stated Clondalkin Cllr Trevor Gilligan PC.
