Within Dublin, SDCC hosted 7.49% of Ukrainian arrivals, the most of all the Dublin Local Authorities. Followed closely by DCC: 6.46%, then Fingal @ 4.12%. Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown hosted 3.6%, the least number of Ukrainian arrivals in the Dublin area.
“This is a terrible time for all involved, I welcome and support Ukrainian families who have been involuntarily displaced by the war. Whilst some families will return home in the future, many are setting down roots. We need to make sure that the services & facilities are in place to support that. Services are stretched as things are. This is going to have a huge impact on our systems and the minister must make sure that Clondalkin, Rathcoole, Newcastle & Saggart get the resources required to handle and manage such a large increase in the population” stated Cllr Trevor Gilligan.
