Clarkeville Arts and Flowers have been awarded €1,000 to upgrade the shopfront design

South Dublin County Council is delighted to announce that Clarkeville Arts and Flowers have been awarded €1,000 in recognition of the work undertaken to upgrade the shopfront design of its business premises at Old Lucan Road, Palmerstown Village.

The award for Best Designed Shopfront was in addition to a grant received to co- fund the improved shopfront design as part of South Dublin County Council’s Shop Front Grant Scheme 2017. The objective of the grant scheme is to promote high quality shop front design standards in our local villages and town centres and to create an attractive setting in which retailers can establish and develop successful businesses.

On Friday 12th January 2018, the Mayor of South Dublin County Council, Cllr. Paul Gogarty awarded representatives from Clarkeville Art and Flowers with their prize. Mayor Gogarty said “I am very pleased to present Clarkeville Arts and Flowers with their cheque for €1,000 for the Best Designed Shopfront Award 2017. Stewarts Care are an in integral part of the local community and the building has a long history in Palmerstown Village. The Shop Front Grant Scheme provides an opportunity for local businesses and retailers to preserve and enhance our village centres, making them more attractive places for people to live, work and visit”.

Speaking on behalf of Stewarts Care Ltd, Suzanne Keena, Manager of Clarkeville Art and Flowers expressed her delight at being awarded the Best Designed Shopfront Award 2017. “The Clarkeville building represents an iconic and cherished image in the heart of the village in Palmerstown and the award made it possible to lovingly restore the shopfront to a standard befitting its historic location”. Stewarts Care were represented at the presentation by Dean Rock, Fundraising Manager, Helen Brown, Clarkeville Art and Flowers, Padraig Traynor, Technical Services Manager and Seán Priestley Executive Director, Corporate Affairs.
