QQI or PLC courses usually take just one academic year, offering a work ready qualification eg. SNA, Legal and Medical Admin, Beauty. The college also offers you another route into Third Level instead of repeating your Leaving Cert! Many PLCs are Pre- University type courses with University links.
QQI courses can prepare you to apply for new Apprenticeships e.g. Finance, Insurance, Logistics etc. QQI courses use a continuous assessment approach-everything does not depend on final exams like the Leaving Cert.
