Applegreen Announced as Official Coffee Partner at Taste of Dublin

Applegreen Official Coffee Taste of Dublin

Applegreen plc, the Irish leading forecourt and convenience retailer, is announced as the Official Coffee Partner at this year’s Taste of Dublin, for the second consecutive year.  Applegreen take pride in its coffee culture, and serving sustainably sourced, great tasting coffee to their customers, so this partnership further showcases their commitment to offering the best coffee on the road. Taste of Dublin provides a platform for Applegreen to highlight the importance coffee has to the business, but as this year’s festival celebrates the revolution of the Irish menu, the partnership also provides a unique opportunity for Applegreen to remind people if its own Irish food to go offering.

Commenting at the launch, Aaron Duggan, Head of Food at Applegreen said: “At Applegreen we are excited to be the Official Coffee Partner at this year’s Taste of Dublin.  Visitors to Taste are passionate about food and coffee, and so are we.  We’re also dedicated to innovation and to food that is Irish made, highlighted recently with the launch of our new vegan sausage roll!  We offer a wide choice of Irish produced, Irish made and, where possible, locally sourced food to go, as well as offering what is considered to be the best coffee on the road.”

Visitors to this year’s event are encouraged to immerse themselves in the coffee culture by visiting the Applegreen stand and experiencing their passion for coffee, to taste their specialty Rainforest Alliance, 100% Arabica coffee and try their range of signature drinks and delicious treats on offer.  You can also enjoy inspiring coffee masterclasses by the Applegreen in-house coffee specialists and Baristas. Applegreen is a responsible retailer committed to working in an environmentally responsible and sustainable manner. Food waste has been a major focus for Applegreen, so they partnered with FoodCloud in 2018 who facilitate the redistribution of surplus food and help reduce food waste.  Also during 2018, Applegreen introduced a fully recyclable takeaway coffee cup, and there is a conscious effort at all Applegreen locations to ensure customers have access to recycle items with their segregated bins.  With a circular approach to recycling, these cups are then recycled into two of Applegreen’s products –  cup holders and egg cartons.

By choosing Applegreen you are also choosing to do good for others.  Every time a customer makes a purchase in-store, 1c is donated to the Applegreen Charitable Fund at no extra cost to the customer.  In 2018, an impressive circa €750,000 was donated to Irish charities, giving much needed support to the incredible work done by these organisations every day.
