Annual commuter ticket holders to get refunds

Dublin Bus

Cormac Devlin T.D. has welcomed news of refunds for customers of the TaxSaver Commuter Scheme during the on-going COVID-19 crisis.

Deputy Devlin said: “I am pleased to see that refunds will now be offered to customers when a plan is worked out. I called on the Government a number of weeks ago to amend the scheme and introduce practical solutions like allowing commuters pause their contributions until the COVID-19 crisis passes.

“We see reports that The National Transport Authority (NTA) is working hard to find the best possible solution for those who have paid for tickets. It is likely that customers will see a refund for paying in advance for bus and rail services.

“A lot of people are currently out of work who would have paid for their annual tickets so the refunds will go a small way to helping the current stress that people are suffering as a result of the on-going COVID-19 restrictions,” concluded Deputy Devlin.
