Junk Kouture’s Eastern Regional Final

Local teenagers from across Dublin, Kildare, Louth and Meath are adding the finishing touches to their haute couture recycled designs, before strutting their stuff at this year’s Regional Final of Junk Kouture, in the hopes of bagging themselves a place at the inaugural Grand Final on the 3Arena stage on April 30th. After months of preparation and planning, the time has now come for students to showcase their recycled designs at the ten-year anniversary of the national fashion competition Junk Kouture. With over 1,300 entries nationally, 80 designs from across the Eastern region were chosen to progress to the live show, which in itself is a huge achievement! The Eastern Regional Final will take place on Monday 2nd March in The Helix, Dublin where judges Tracey Fahey from Limerick School of Art and Design, Jane Leavey of Griffith College, fashion designer Stephen McLaughlin and student judge Rebecca Mc Nally will lend their expertise to proceedings on the night.

Troy Amour, CEO of Junk Kouture revealed: “I am very proud to be involved in one of Ireland’s most prestigious post-primary competition.  Each year, more and more students are entering which brings a new wave of creativity and fresh talent to Junk Kouture. I cannot wait to see what this year will bring; it’s looking like it will be our strongest and most competitive yet”.

As Junk Kouture celebrates its ten-year anniversary, the brand-new partnership with RTÉ was announced in February. The partnership will see RTÉ 2FM’s podcast queens, Laura Fox and Emma Power, hosts of popular Unlocked with Laura and Emma, present the Junk Kouture regional events and grand finale, while RTÉ 2FM DJ, Tara Stewart will provide the party atmosphere at the Grand Final, unleashing her musical prowess on the decks and on stage at 3Arena.
