Lucan Schools Can No Longer Be Overlooked for Investment

Education

Local school’s are in dire need of investment, that’s according to local Councillor and General Election candidate, Emer Higgins.

“Lucan schools have been over-looked when it comes to investment. Two of our most established second-level schools, St Joseph’s and Lucan Community College are both waiting on investment for over a decade. And three of our local primary schools, St. Mary’s Boys NS, Scoil Aine and St. Thomas are all waiting on investment also. These are just five examples of Lucan schools in dire need of investment,” said Cllr. Emer Higgins.

“It’s not good enough that in 2020, our kids are being educated in sub-standard accommodation. I brought the Minister for Education out to see some of our local schools so he could understand the situation better and asked him to prioritise more effectively to ensure that Lucan is no longer overlooked for investment. If I’m elected to the Dáil I’ll have a much bigger opportunity to advocate for our local schools and that would be one of my main priorities for Lucan,” said Cllr. Emer Higgins.
