According to Charlie O’Connor, this ended a long time campaign for these important works and he also paid tribute to School Principal, Dearbhla Byrne and her predecessor Chris Meehan, who drove the campaign on behalf of the Board.
He added that the news was announced to the School community in a recent newsletter that said:
“We are delighted to announce that the Department of Education has granted a renovation project on the school over the coming year. This will include the full insulation of the school, ensuring a warmer environment for your children.
Classrooms on the infant side will be made larger and refurbished and classes on the senior side will also be refurbished.
We know that this will make an even happier learning environment for the children on Knockmore.
Thanks for all of your support in helping us securing the funding.
Bright Days ahead for Knockmore JNS!”
