Opening of the New Garda Clinic in Lucan/Adamstown

Emer Higgins, local TD for Dublin Mid West and Caroline Brady P.C., Fine Gael County Councillor candidate, have welcomed the opening of a Garda Clinic in Adamstown, Lucan.

As of the 10th of January 2024, Lucan Gardaí are inviting residents to the Adamstown Youth and Community Centre every Wednesday for consultations and support. “The opening of the new local Adamstown Garda Clinic is about bringing essential services closer to the local people and establishing a safe space for community support and engagement. The clinic will run weekly from 19:30 to 21:30 and is designed to be an accessible point of contact for the people of Lucan to meet with their local Gardaí and discuss any issues or concerns they may have”, stated Higgins.

“The launch of Lucan’s Garda Clinic is a pivotal development for community safety. It represents local Gardaí commitment to peace and public order. I urge the community to actively engage with the Gardaí to make sure Lucan remains a safe place to call home,” said Brady.

Higgins has been a strong advocate for such community-based approaches and recently called for the opening of a Clinic following the recent success of a similar clinic in Citywest. “I’m glad to see our calls for a clinic have been heard and I encourage everyone in the Lucan and Adamstown area to take advantage of this resource. Initiatives like this are integral to community well-being and I welcome its launch,” Higgins added.

“It is my hope that the new Adamstown Garda Clinic will be instrumental in creating stronger safer communities. It will be a really useful resource in reporting and tackling anti-social behaviour and provide people with the opportunity to get forms stamped without having to get down to Lucan Garda Station,” said Brady.

For more information, residents can contact the clinic at 01-6667300 or via email at lucan.community@garda.ie.
