“The aim of this award is to thank & acknowledge local heroes in the community. A local hero can be a friend, family member, carer, community activist, youth worker or environmentalist. I’m also looking for local groups who deserve recognition, such as local residents associations, or sports groups. Having lived here all my life, I see how much work goes on behind the scenes in the community. Countless unsung heroes dedicate voluntary time and effort behind the scenes on a daily basis. This work must not go unnoticed.”
